An award-winning journalist throws his professional integrity away by acting a fool and publishing long, ranting pieces on popular culture, post-modern life and the overall human condition without the help of a copy editor.

Welcome to my new (but temporary) film criticism site.

After two-and-a-half years of film criticism at the award-winning LOS ANGELES LOYOLAN, two years as the LOYOLAN's Arts & Entertainment Editor and five years intermittently posting reviews at Ain't-It-Cool-News (aintitcool.com) under a pseudonym, I think it's about time I start my own website.

Not only will this be a place to post past and present film reviews, this will be the place where you can peruse my wonderful and obsessively huge DVD/Laserdisc/VHS collection--with a review for each--find the continuation of my personal column originated at the LOYOLAN discussing the latest in pop culture and a forum for my original work. You can also find out that I have created this website out of desperation after only three months of post-graduate life, occupied by a three-day stint at EnvironmentCalifornia canvassing in Pasadena for solar power, my six-week occupation as a part-time assistant for a non-broadcast documentary on the two people who "created" Las Vegas (more than likely, you've never heard of them) and promising to finish my gangster script I started in my final screenwriting class at Loyola Marymount University. More on that later.

But here it is. It will be slow running, but it will keep me occupied. More than likely, I'll be drunk on Two-Buck Chuck while posting most of these entries, just like most of my time at the LOYOLAN.

So welcome, welcome to Beetle's Corner. May God have mercy on your soul.
